MACK BROWN 7 PROFILE
MACK BROWN 7 ARE ADELAIDE’S PREMIER BABY BOOMERS DANCE BAND
This seven piece outfit specializes in BIG BAND ROCK N ROLL, SWING, JUMP BLUES and LATIN dance favourites. The band’s versatility is a feature that gives all dance fans the opportunity of blending their various skills on dance floors throughout Adelaide. It’s not unusual to see Rock n Rollers, Cha Cha and Swing fans all dancing to the same tune at a Mack brown gig.
The band has a powerful sound featuring the twin saxophones of Carol Andersen and Terry Benn who combine to capture that marvellous pumping sixties sound so prevalent in Bobby Rydell, Dion, and Del Shannon tunes.
Former original members of 60’s recording group The Vibrants, Terry Osmond on Lead Guitar and Geoff Skewes on Hammond Organ/Digital Piano, recreate the exciting sounds of The Shadows, Duane Eddy, Booker T and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Master craftsman Andrew Brennan handles Mack Brown’s Vocals and the former Big Band/Cabaret star is equally at home belting out a gutsy rock song or a smooth Bobby Darin tune.
Add to the mix the incredibly tight rhythm section of bass player Matty Salter and drumming supremo Chris Hart, it’s no wonder that Mack Brown 7 are sought after whenever a Big Band Rock n Roll sound is required for dancers everywhere.
Mack Brown’s “ 8th “ member is Sound Engineer Brian Coff who is a permanent member of the team and with his fully equipped sound system, produces the big HI FI sound that the band delivers. Brian is a fine musician in his own right and fully understands the importance of quality sound for dancers and patrons at all Mack Brown 7 shows.
